Challenge: Extend the Wear Life of Soil Engaging Parts Such as Tillage Sweeps

A steel part moving through soil presents a uniquely challenging wear problem, especially in abrasive, sandy soils.  This is where Lund Coating Technologies* excels.

 

Over many years Lund has perfected its proprietary WEAR-TUFF (tm) abrasion resistant coating.  When a major agricultural equipment company went looking for a way to extend the life of its tillage sweeps, Lund Coating Technologies developed a process to protect both the leading edge as well as high wear areas on the shank.

 

Now Lund applies it WEAR-TUFF coating to these sweeps, as well as tillage disks, spiders, and many other soil engaging parts provided by other manufacturers.  In practice, with the WEAR-TUFF coating, these parts can last as much as three times longer than non-treated parts.
